What is Sayur Asem?

Sayur Asem is a popular Indonesian tamarind dish. The origin of the dish can be traced to Sundanese people of West Java, Banten and Jakarta region. It is well-known belongs within Sundanese cuisine and Betawi daily diet. It is stocked with vegetables and some Indonesia ingredients. A very close relative called sayur lodeh is made with coconut milk and has a sweeter flavor.

How To Make Sayur Asem?

Ingredients
- Chayote
- Melinjo nuts
- Melinjo leaves
- Snake bean
- Corn
- Tomato
- Water
- Lemon grass
- Fresh bay leaves
- Palm sugar
- Tamarind pulp
- Salt
- Sugar
- Garlic
- Fresh turmeric
Instructions
- Boil water in a soup pot, then add the lemon grass, bay leaves, palm sugar, tamarind pulp, and salt and cook for 3-5 minutes or until fragrant.
- Add the melinjo nuts and melinjo leaves and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
- Add chayote, snake beans, corns, and tomatoes and cook for another 15-20 minutes or until all vegetables are tender and cooked through. Adjust salt and sugar as needed. Remove from heat and serve warm.

What do i feel when im cooking?
When im cooking my feeling is a bit of sad because of bored and joyfull because im really exited and its fascinating!
Nothing get wrong, i got all of the ingredients ready in the day before i cooked sayur asem. Its perfect for me, my Sayur Asem looks and taste good!
